Christine Hogarth, MPP Etobicoke-Lakeshore

This weekend marks the start of the Olympic Games! While we, as proud Canadians, will cheer on Team Canada at the Tokyo Olympic Games, our Etobicoke-Lakeshore community has another reason to cheer: Summer McIntosh, a resident of Etobicoke-Lakeshore, is Canada’s youngest athlete at the Olympic Games! At the young age of 14, she will compete in the 200-, 400- and 800-metre freestyle races and will team up for Canada’s 4x200m freestyle relay at the Tokyo Olympic Games. From July 23 to August 8, let’s come together and cheer for a fellow Etobicoke-Lakeshore resident on her journey to the podium!

As members of Team Ontario, we too have something to be applauded for: as of this past Tuesday, over eight million Ontarians have been fully vaccinated! This comes only seven days after surpassing seven million fully vaccinated Ontarians. I look forward to see another milestone we Team Ontario will achieve next week and sharing with you!

While we continue enjoying the summer safely under Ontario’s Third step of Roadmap to Reopen, I encourage all of you to book your vaccine appointment as soon as possible. If you need assistance in this, please let my office know, and we’re here to help!
