Protecting Ontario's Pets

Published on December 05, 2018

Animal welfare, especially the humane treatment of pets, has always been an important issue to me. This is why I have introduced a Private Members’ Bill that will work towards ending puppy and kitten mills in Ontario: Bill 65, the Protecting Our Pets Act.

Puppy and kitten mills produce high volumes of puppies and kittens under the most inhumane circumstances possible. These puppies and kittens are neglected their most basic needs: proper veterinary care, affection and exercise. They are often left in cages for extended periods of time.
